Submissions to Harbourfront Centre
A key component of Harbourfront Centre's mandate is championing the creation of new artistic works while providing a platform for innovation, creation and excellence.
Some of these programmes include HATCH: emerging performance projects, Fresh Ground new works, Visual Arts open call for professional artists' submission for exhibitions in York Quay Gallery and the Craft Studio's Artist-in-Residence Programme.
Our Community and Educational Programmes Department is currently accepting proposals to co-produce programmes and events during the September 2010 - May 2011 period.
Many of the fantastic works are brought through Harbourfront Centre due to our invaluable relationships with community partners. Partnerships give community organizations the opportunity to showcase the artistic excellence found within their communities and collaborate with an international, professional and arts-based organization.
Information Sessions at Harbourfront Centre
As part of The Culture Congress 2010, Harbourfront Centre would like to invite you to attend a Community Information Session, to gain an understanding of the inner workings of our multidisciplinary artistic and cultural centre.
Have you ever…
- been curious about how a large cultural institution like Harbourfront Centre functions?
- had an idea for a creative project but aren’t sure how to approach us with it?
- attended events at Harbourfront Centre and thought, “This is where I belong!”
If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you might find what you’re looking for at our Community Information Session!
This will be a unique opportunity to get an overview of the various programming departments at Harbourfront Centre (literary, visual arts, craft, performance and community and education programmes). You will hear from directors and artistic associates about their curatorial framework and vision, how they work with artists and outside partners, and the processes they go through in order to bring a project to fruition.
Our aim is to promote a greater awareness among the artistic community of Toronto as to how and why we make programming decisions. We hope you will leave this info session with a greater sense of how best to approach us with your ideas. If you are interested in working with us, we want to hear from you!
The event will take place:
Thursday, March 25 | 5:30pm | Harbourfront Centre – Miss Lou’s Room
