Graffiti Art

Graffiti is used as a tool for artists to communicate and relates to ideas used in propaganda posters during the Second World War, to the street of Keith Harring and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and to the controversial contemporary stencil artist Banksy. Explore and debate the graffiti found on buildings and underpasses and engage in a discussion about What is Art?
This programme gives students an opportunity to create their own 'tag' using techniques we have discussed throughout the day. They will also have the time to use their art work to communicate a message dealing with an issue they feel to be important to them.
